44 years ago, President John F. Kennedy was murdered in a classic coup by the American military industrial complex in order to perpetrate the Viet Nam war onto the American and the Vietnamese people.

Ever since, people have been trying to stake a claim on the legacy of President Kennedy. Remember his own fellow Republicans chastised Dan Quayle who tried to compare himself to him. Remember the famous Quote by Lloyd Bentsen "I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy."

Well in case you haven't been paying attention, the Kennedys have given Senator Barack Obama an unprecedented political gift with a strange baggage attachment.
Their absolute endorsement of Senator Obama comes with all the shadowy overtones of Camelot.

The pluses:
Last Century's "Brief Shining Moment" for America, "The New Frontier", "The postwar promise" and a young American President with wide appeal among youths inspired this country. In southern black households there were three icons at the mantel: Jesus Christ, Martin Luther King and John F. Kennedy. The Apollo missions to the Moon, The Peace Corps. PT-109, Beautiful Wife Jacqueline, those were wonderful times full of hope.

The minuses:
The Bay of Pigs, Military Advisers in Viet Nam, Marilyn Monroe, Back pain pills, Deals with southern racists and shadowy election results in Illinois.

However:
In retrospect, those who remember those days can't help but yearn for the passion and the hope they felt back then. Caroline Kennedy said to a crowd of students at American University: "Over the years, I've been deeply moved by the people who've told me they wish they could feel inspired and hopeful about America the way people did when my father was president".
She continued: "This longing is even more profound today. Fortunately, there is one candidate who offers that same sense of hope and inspiration, and I am proud to endorse Senator Barack Obama for president."
Most Americans are really tired of the failures and trespasses of the current Bush Administration from the illegal pre-emptive war to domestic spying and torture.

Caroline Kennedy who has access to millions of dollars and works helping New York Public Schools, is the same little girl with gloved hands and a short dress, who followed her father's coffin holding her mother's hand. She does not have to concern herself with Pig Bays or back pills. Her father's legacy is very real to her and who here has the right to tell her she's wrong.

Senator Ted Kennedy said at a Barack Obama rally in Washington DC: "Each of us can make a difference and all of us ought to try." Senator Obama then proceeded to voice a rousing speech in the Kennedy style to the hopeful and the faithful members of the Democratic Party.

It's just Politics, but politics of hope, not of division, not of war.

Personally, my opinion on this primary campaign, I'm a bit undecided. Being a solid democrat, and remembering the prosperity and good times of the 1990's, I was naturally inclined to support Hillary Clinton. However, after I listened to Obama's speeches and listened to his campaign message, I'm inclined to allow myself to hope for a deeper change. I’ve also noticed the negativity and ruthlessness the Clinton campaign seems to be dishing out. But in the end I am sure that any Democratic candidate would be a vast improvement over the ineptitude of our current "President". I put it in quotes because I'm a firm believer that the 2000 elections were blatantly stolen.

If you're thinking I may be crazy, watch a congressional hearing of the fellow who wrote the voting machine computer code that gave Bush the close election in Florida. Just click on the link below to view it, I don't know about you, but I'm ready to start civil disobedience.
