Forums are similar, except you are not necessarily starting the conversation. But it does allow you to see what people have to say and offer your opinion as well. From there, you can begin to develop relationships and trust. When people feel they can trust you, you are much more likely to receive traffic over your competitors.
The point is you are not going to have success with your internet marketing business by sitting behind your web site and waiting for customers to come to you. Take a leadership role and get out on the internet. The more time you spend in forums and posting on your blog, the more people will begin to recognize you and develop a relationship. From there, you will be on your way to generating quality targeted traffic.
