Chances are you have heard of positive affirmations and simply glossed over the term and continued on your way. You may have even received information in your email inbox or through friends about free positive affirmations and yet you didn t look into what exactly this is and how it might help you.

Do you know what positive affirmations are? Are you sure? Because a lot of us already use affirmations subconsciously in our lives, without even knowing it!

Understanding and Using Positive Affirmations

What are affirmations? Positive affirmations are short statements that summarize your goal or the way you want to act, feel, or respond to certain situations. These statements are usually short and sweet, and something that you fully desire for yourself. Positive affirmations are only as powerful as your belief system, so when you create your own affirmations make sure that they are something that you truly believe in, otherwise you won t act on it at all.

Wondering how you can create your own free positive affirmations? It s simple, really! Usually an affirmation is quite short, at most 50 to 60 words, and it will summarize a goal. Affirmations must be in the present tense and must always be positive! Why should you affirm your negative characteristics when you can transform them into something positive and productive?

If you really want to make your affirmations stick you should write your goal down and place it everywhere the bathroom mirror, your wallet, next to your computer, your phone, fridge, etc.

You then need to say your positive affirmations out loud and in your mind you should picture realizing this goal. In those moments of weakness when you need positive thoughts instead of negative ones, repeat your affirmations, drawing strength and power from them.

As you can see, positive affirmations are really easy to create and use. The sooner you incorporate them into your life, the sooner you will benefit from them. What can they do for you? They can help you live a more positive life. Many people use their positive affirmations to move the negative thought processes out of their mind, replacing them with positive thoughts. You can create affirmations about anything, so whatever it is that you are having a hard time with, you can create affirmation statements to help you rid your life of the negativity that may currently be surrounding you.

What are affirmations? They are a tool to help you lead a happier, healthier life. Through affirmations you may realize happiness and contentment for the first time in your life because you know that you are doing your best and reaching further than ever before. You may be a bit skeptical but because there are free positive affirmations and you never have to pay a cent for them, but what do you have to lose? If you could live a more positive life simply by creating a statement that you believe in (and act upon), then repeat it to yourself constantly, would you? If so, affirmations could help you move forward in your life and experience the great things that you have always dreamed of.
